Privacy Policy

Overview

MOSS Countdown is published by MOSS Companion and is designed to work locally on your device. The app does not require an account or use advertising, analytics or tracking services. We do not sell personal information.

Information you create

The app lets you create and customise countdowns. This may include:

• countdown names, dates, times and display preferences;
• widget layouts, colours, fonts, stickers and other appearance settings; and
• photos or images you choose to use in a countdown or widget.

This information is stored locally in the app's private storage on your device. It is used only to provide the countdowns and widgets you create. We do not receive or remotely store this content.

Photos and images

MOSS Countdown accesses a photo only when you choose one through the Android photo picker. Selected images may be copied into the app's private local storage so they can continue to appear in your widgets. Image editing and automatic background removal are performed on your device. The app does not upload your selected images to us.

Notifications, timers and widgets

If you grant notification permission, MOSS Countdown can notify you when a timed countdown reaches zero. Android alarm and widget services are used to keep countdown widgets current and deliver the completion alert at the time you selected. Notification permission can be changed at any time in Android settings.

Data collection and sharing

We do not collect, transmit or share your countdown content, selected images, contacts, location, advertising identifiers or usage activity. The app does not contain third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.

Google Play and Android may process information independently when you download, update or use platform services. Their handling of information is governed by Google's own terms and privacy policy; we do not receive that platform data.

Security

Countdown data and copied images are kept in app-private storage using Android's security protections. No method of storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but we limit access and processing to what is needed to provide the app's features.

Retention and deletion

Your countdown data remains on your device until you delete the relevant countdown or uninstall MOSS Countdown. You can remove countdowns within the app. You can also clear all locally stored app data through Android settings or by uninstalling the app. Because we do not hold a server-side copy, there is no separate online account or cloud record for us to delete.

Children's privacy

MOSS Countdown does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users. The app's local-only data handling applies to everyone who uses it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app's features or legal requirements change. The latest version will remain available on this page and will show its effective date above.
